The website may also equip members to better confront real-life challenges by applying scholarly findings. Importantly, the website is devoted to promoting supportive interpersonal relationships characterized by equality, positive regard, mutual trust, empathy, sincerity, and continuous development (increasing knowledge of oneself and others, improving skills mentioned above). In an era where social media makes little positive contribution to mental health, an online community, which promotes more effective interpersonal relationships (in the sense of psychology, linked to lower anxiety level), may be valuable in the long run.

The website aims to establish a decentralized online community that integrates a space or scaffolding for developing various cognitive/interpersonal skills through cooperative learning, mutual aid (an online go-to place), and an atmosphere of embracing intellectual curiosity and generosity (sharing thoughts, ideas, proposed solutions, and support; giving constructive feedbacks and recognition). In sum, the website promotes mutual support, intellectual exploration, and lifelong learning.
The definition or core value of the website:
The website, an online discussion platform and decentralized intellectual community called Mind Explorers, encourages, but does not strictly require, informal, intellectual, trans/interdisciplinary, and thought-provoking engagement. The informal nature of the website enables members to freely involve in intellectual or practical discussions without being limited by existing norms, theories, and academic requirements (like form, structure, citation, etc.), but being formal or having clear citations are accepted. The website adheres to principles of mutual trust, mutual support, and positive regard, favoring intellectual curiosity, humility, empathy, courage and perseverance, and confidence in reason. It embodies the idea that inclusion and empathy of others foster critical thinking (acknowledging others’ merits and the space for improvement of one’s perception/self-knowledge), interpersonal bond, and effective response to both reason and emotion.
